Avatar is a word that comes from Hinduism. In Hinduism, an Avatar is a deity on Earth. Since Hinduism believes in many deities it is conceivable that there are many avatars on Earth representing different deities.
The gaming world has also adopted the word avatar to mean a digital representation of a human in a game. This usually takes the form of a cartoon character, but it could be anything.
A Knowledge Avatar is a representation of your knowledge in cyberspace.
